VANCOUVER – Good luck to all of the athletes participating in this year’s Vancouver BG Triathlong World Championships! The weather looks a little chilly but I hope that it doesn’t dampen the spirit of the race. Last year Simon Whitfield won the event – his first World Cup win since 2004 – and crossed the finish line in one hour 49 min and 16 seconds. Holy!
This is the largest sporting event to hit Vancouver before the 2010 Winter Olympic and final qualifier to determin Canada’s Olympic triathlon team for Beijing. I wish I could be at the finish line to cheer on all of the athletes as they come one step closer to their Olympic dreams. Best of luck to Colin, Kathy, and Simon.
